Haitian stylist David André was honored by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, receiving a distinction alongside other professionals working in the fashion sector in Haiti. This recognition took place on Friday, August 29, 2025 at the Montana Hotel, during the launch of the Program for the revitalization of the sewing and shoe-making sectors in Haiti.
A beautiful initiative that highlights local talent and celebrates the hard work of those who make Haitian fashion shine in Haiti and abroad.
I have had the honor of receiving a few distinctions abroad during my 26 years of career, but nothing equals the feeling of being recognized in your own country, while you are alive. You may say that it is luck,” but I know that these are years of hard work, sleepless nights to meet deadlines, sacrifices, stress, moments of doubt, patience, perseverance, learning, joy and sometimes sorrow.
Nothing was given to me as a gift. Despite everything, I am still standing, still on the ball. I would like to thank the Minister James Monazard as well as his cabinet for their commitment in favor of the revival of the fashion sector and related professions in Haiti.
This distinction is a proof that my work is seen, heard, and appreciated. I will continue to invest in my passion relentlessly, to give the best of myself.
Thank you for this honor
David André
