I am extremely thrilled to be honored last evening at the prestigious Haitian music awards. I didn’t know I was going to receive an award. I simply was asked to organize a fashion show. Thank you to the PHMA staff for acknowledging my talent and the ability to continue. I dedicate this award to my mom, she embraced my world and she is always on my back with her advices, encouragement. My brother, we are in this world to shine. Mrs Magalie Racine, thanks for opening the doors of Academie Perfection for my first fashion show. My friends, you all know who you are. I want to dedicate this award to all my fellow designers, let’s keep on the good work, keep dreaming big.
When I started in that business, I was very shy and not confident enough. Through the years I have to pull myself together and get on with my creative life. I learned as well in life there is no real security except for self-belief. I am very grateful that I am enjoying this career after 24 years and every day I count my blessings.
Thank you to all those who believed in my talent and allowed me to live it and to learn from the experiences in the Haitian cinema, dance companies, comedy musicals , artists for whom I had to work, etc. This career has allowed me to travel around the world for fashion week, meet nice people and enjoy unique moments. A special thanks to my customers, some of them have been with me since the first day, others have joined me over the years. Your support and appreciation give me strength to continue to create and beautify you. Written, spoken, televised press, thank you for promoting me. I am extremely grateful.
An advice to all those who would like to get into fashion, you need to know that it is a job like all the others. You need to have the passion, perseverance, patience, discipline, be humble, grateful and above all you must pray. Nothing is easy in life, but with determination you can achieve great deeds. I don’t believe in luck at all, for me, luck is a preparation meeting opportunity. I have known sleepless nights in order to keep a contract, I have lost Sundays with friends to be able to work, I have fallen 100 times, but I have never given up, I have experienced a lot of professional disappointment, but I have not stopped and remain strong. I still have a lot of work to do in my career. Nothing is impossible, just believe it. I do not regret anything so far…Once again, THANK YOU
